Mondays are always tough especially if you had the weekend to enjoy. But Mondays provide us with an opportunity to start a new week off fresh. Instead of looking at Monday as if it were a bad thing, own it, live it and make it great. Here are some tips to improve your motivation to achieve your goals over the week.
When you are determing what it is you want for your life make sure you are in the right state of mind. If you make your goals out of anger or frustration you are bound to lose focus and make wreckless chocies. If you are already upset with yourself when you are making the goal, imagine how you will feel if you do not achieve that goal. Make your goals when you are feeling positive, when you are feeling at your best, that way you have a clear state of mind. You are bound to achieve goals more often when you are in a positive place.
WRITE THEM DOWN! When you visualize what you want to achieve you are more likely to conquer your goals. Repeatedly read your goals to yourself and remind yourself of the benefits of making positive changes. Research has proven by physically reproducing your ideas/goals that magnifies your ability to achieve them. Always bring them to the front of your mind.
Find someone to hold you accountable. It is one thing when you tell yourself you want to achieve something. The level rises when you share your personal desires with someone that will keep you on track. Actual human support adds an element to achieving your goals that simply writing them down does not. Also, they can provide feedback to help you better understand your goals and truly see how reasonable you are being. We must be realistic when determining our goals. No one is going to lose 50 pounds in a week. You must realize achieving your goals takes time, effort and determination.
Time Frame: Give yourself specific time frames to achieve the goals you are striving for. By giving yourself a deadline so to speak, you are more likely to push yourself towards reaching your goals. If you say you will do it later, eventually later turns to never.
Lastly, practice gratitude. By doing this research has proven that it will help build your social bonds, your friendships and your character. It will help you sleep better. It will alter your heart rate which can aid in things such as high blood pressure and reduces your risk for adverse cardiac reactions down the road. It can strengthen your immune system and reduce your daily stress levels. Also, it can make you feel better about your life. By improving who you are as a person inside and out, you are more likely to achieve your goals. Be positive and take every failure as an opportunity to learn, to grow and to take one step closer to achieving your desires.
Happy Monday!
